Karaoke Proposal

If your girlfriend loves a good time out with friends and strangers alike, you can surprise her with a karaoke creative proposal idea.  She will be able to have the best of all her worlds; a great time out singing and dancing with you asking to spend the rest of your life with her as a bonus.

Setting up this creative proposal idea is not going to be too terribly difficult outside of getting her to karaoke with you.  Of course if you plan on serenading her, then having her sing is a non issue anyway.  In my personal opinion, having her up there with you is the way to go though.  In doing my research for this post, I found some good videos of people who had their ladies up there with them and I found them better than the ones where it was only the guy singing to her.

But before we get to the videos, let’s touch on how to set this up.  The first thing you will want to do is set up a date with her to go out.  What actually would be better is if you had one of her friends set it up.  Have her friend say she wants to go out to a karaoke bar one weekend.  You can even arrange to have more friends join you there.  Here is one piece of advice I would like to share with you that I live my life by.  It is a quote from Benjamin Franklin and it says “Three can keep a secret, if two of them are dead”.  I certainly am not advising you to kill anyone, but merely saying should you invite others to the party, they need not know why it is a party.  One of them will inadvertently slip and ruin the surprise.  So keep the number of people who know what is going on to a minimum.  Once you have the date figured out, then you will want to figure out the song or songs you want to use for your karaoke proposal.  There are some obvious suggestions for songs you can sing that you can find here.

You can call  ahead of time to let the place know what you are planning and to make sure they have the song you are wanting to use.  You can also ask to talk to the d.j. if you are going to have any special requests for them, including letting you have a little extra time.  Some special requests could be that you want to start one song and have him switch to another when you cut in (as in the second video below).  You can also ask him to totally kill the music when you start to talk to her.  It may also be good to turn her mic off until you are done and get down on one knee.  Though leaving it on may be even better as she screams yes or some other goofy thing.

It is not absolutely necessary to do your karaoke proposal in a karaoke bar.  As you can see from the video below, a house party karaoke is just fine.  Although one note, and after watching this I am sure you will agree, have a roll of duct tape handy to seal off the mouth of any chick who finds it necessary to scream the entire time and steal your show.  Grr.

This is a great example of a karaoke proposal done right.  I think it is safe to say he knows her quite well and that she is very surprised.  Everyone in the crowd loves it and they are the stars of the night.

Here is a nice duet that turns into a proposal. If you are keeping it low key, this may be the way you want to do it.

You can skip to 1:10 on this one if you want to get right to the actual singing part. Beware; more ridiculous screaming on this one. It is a little harder to hear, but a good example of a guy who knows what he wanted to say and seemed to have tried to plan a speech of sorts. Hopefully you have had the dose of inspiration that you need the get the party started with a karaoke marriage proposal that she will never forget. As always, if you would like some help or advice with your marriage proposal, then feel free and give us a shout.
